Course Details
Overview
Gas welding is a traditional fusion welding process that joins metals using the heat generated by the combustion of a fuel gas and oxygen mixture—commonly acetylene, hydrogen, propane, or butane. The resulting flame reaches a temperature of approximately 3200°C, which is sufficient to melt all commercial metals. During the process, the edges of the base metal are fused together, often with the use of a compatible filler rod, to form a strong, permanent bond. The primary equipment involved in gas welding includes oxygen and acetylene gas cylinders, pressure regulators, hose pipes, a welding torch with interchangeable nozzles, a cylinder transport trolley, filler rods, and fluxes. A spanner and gas lighter are also used for operation and maintenance.
